Account security matters, and switching on two-factor authentication (2FA) is a quick win. 2FA adds a second check during the sign-in process, so even if someone compromises your password, they still can\u2019t get in. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
To enable 2FA:<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n Step 1: Open your Security details<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n Sign in to your Heart Internet account, head to Contacts & Billing Details<\/strong>, then choose the Account Security<\/strong> tab. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Step 2: Toggle 2FA on<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n Look for the option to enable Two-Factor Authentication<\/strong> and click to begin setup. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Step 3: Use an authenticator app<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n You\u2019ll need an authentication app on your phone – for example Google Authenticator<\/strong> or Authy<\/strong>. If you don\u2019t have one yet, install it first. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Step 4: Scan the QR code<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n Open your app and scan the QR code shown on screen. Can\u2019t scan? No problem – you can enter the setup key manually in the app. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Step 5: Enter the verification code<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n Your app will generate a 6-digit code. Type that code into the verification box to confirm everything\u2019s linked. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Step 6: Record your recovery key<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n You\u2019ll be shown a recovery key. Keep this somewhere safe – it\u2019s what you\u2019ll use if you ever lose access to your authenticator app. <\/p>\n\n\n\n All set<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n 2FA is now active on your account. Next time you log in, you\u2019ll be asked for a code from your authenticator app. If you tick Remember me on this device<\/strong>, you can go 30 days<\/strong> before you\u2019re asked again on that device.
