cPanel - Package Administration - Upgrading or downgrading your cPanel package

As your website grows, you may find that you need more resources, storage, or features. Upgrading your cPanel/MWP hosting package is a seamless process that can be done directly from your account dashboard.

Key Information Before You Upgrade

  • Higher Tiers Only: You can only use this feature to move to a higher-tier package.
  • No Downgrades: Please note that you cannot downgrade your package through this automated tool.
  • No Migration Required: This is an in-place upgrade. Your website remains exactly where it is; the system simply increases the limits and features of your current environment. There is no downtime and no need to move files.

ShapeSteps to Upgrade Your Package

Follow these steps to increase your hosting resources:

  1. Access Hosting Management: Log in to your account and navigate to the Manage cPanel Hosting section.
  2. Select Your Package: Find the specific hosting package you wish to change and click the Upgrade button located next to the service details.
  3. Choose Your New Plan: On the next page, you will see a list of available higher-tier packages. Compare the features and select the one that best fits your growing needs.
  4. Complete Payment: Review the pro-rated cost for the remainder of your billing cycle and proceed with the payment. The upgrade will not extend the expiry period of the package. The upgrade cost is the cost difference between the packages tiers

What happens next? Once the payment is successful, your package limits (such as websites, emails, or bandwidth) will be updated automatically and instantly.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will my website go offline during the upgrade? No. Because the upgrade works as an addition to your current package, there is no migration involved and your website will stay live throughout the process.

What if I want to downgrade? Automated downgrades are not supported to prevent data loss (e.g., if your files exceed the limits of a smaller plan). If you need to move to a smaller package, please contact our Support Team for assistance.
