Secure Shell (SSH) gives you a secure channel to your account over an insecure network using a secure client, much like how you can use an SSL certificate on a website to transmit sensitive data over a web browser.
With an SSH client, you can securely log into remote computers and execute commands safely without interception. We use SSH to give you added security on your hosting package or server, so that you can connect to any data you have on your account without third-party interference.
If you are using a Windows desktop to access your account, you can download PuTTY, a free SSH client. You can download PuTTY from your eXtend Control Panel under ‘Free Software’, or visit the PuTTY site:

To access your account through PuTTY:
your-domain
your-domain.com
Or enter in the IP address you were given for your server
