Why am I seeing Heart Internet’s information when I pull up my website’s search engine results?

This is a rare occurrence, but it can happen.

If your domain name is not assigned to a hosting package, or if it is disabled, a Heart Internet holding page will be displayed.

During this period, your domain name may have been visited by a search engine indexing robot, which would then collect the information about your website and update search engine results.

When you then purchase hosting, or enable your domain name, you will put your site up, with your own search engine information, but the search engine will still only have the information from when it previously visited.

It can take time between when a search engine first visits your domain and when it revisits, and you can wait for the update, or speed up the process for certain search engines.

In Google, there are Google Webmaster Tools, which lets you submit a sitemap, informing Google exactly what is on your site, and pointing their indexing robots towards the pages you want them to see: http://google.com/webmasters/tools

And there is a similar service for Bing, where you can submit your site: http://www.bing.com/toolbox/submit-site-url

There is no certain way to get the search results to refresh immediately, but by submitting it to the search engines, that should ensure it is updated quickly.
