How can I password-protect a directory using Plesk?

Plesk has the built-in feature to password-protect directories.
It is assumed that you are using Plesk as a Service Provider.  If you are using Plesk as a Power User, switch to Service Provider:
- Go to the 'Server' tab

- Go to 'Interface Management'

- Go to 'Panel Appearance'

- Click 'Service Provider'

- Click 'OK'

- You will now be in Service Provider mode

To password-protect a directory:
- Click 'Domains'

- Click 'Control Panel' for the domain you want to set up a password-protected directory in

- Click 'Websites & Domains'

- Click 'Show Advanced Operations'

- Click 'Password-Protected Directories'

- Click 'Add Protected Directory'

- Enter the name, location and title of the directory you want to protect

- Click 'OK'

- Click on the folder

- Click 'Add New User'

- Enter in the username for the user

- Enter in the password

- Enter in the password again

- Click 'OK'

- The directory is now password-protected
