How to optimise your MariaDB/MySQL databases within phpMyAdmin

MariaDB/MySQL has the ability to reorganise how table data is stored to help improve the space used and the performance of the MySQL server. This is particularly useful for sites which run on large databases, or sites which have databases which regularly bloat in size.

You can optimise your database by following these steps:

1. Log into the eXtend control panel for the desired domain
2. Select the MariaDB Databases/MySQL Databases tile under Web Tools
3. Select Manage for the desired database
4. Select the database from the left hand section within phpMyAdmin
5. Select the table that you need to optimise
6. Select Operations along the top of phpMyAdmin
7. Select Optimize table under the Table maintenance section
