Follow the steps below to set up the Web Application Firewall (WAF) and Content Delivery Network (CDN) that comes as part of our Deluxe, Ultimate and Express packages. If your Domain and Website Security package are in the same Heart Internet account, this will only take a few moments to complete. The CDN will automatically begin to work once the WAF is activated.
Please note: You’ll need to contact our Support Team if you need to edit the DNS records for the website associated with the WAF, as you won’t be able to do this once setup is complete.
Log into your Customer Area and open your Website Security service.
Set up Website Security if you haven’t already done so. Once complete, click the ‘Setup’ button under ‘Next Steps’.
Click the ‘Activate’ button.
If your domain and Website Security package are in the same account, this is the final step. Setup will be complete in a few moments. If your DNS is hosted in a different account, you will need to complete a few additional steps.
If your DNS is hosted elsewhere:
If your site is hosted on cPanel, click the ‘Begin firewall automatic activation’ button. Simply fill in your username and password and we’ll do the rest.
Otherwise, click the link below Internal Domains to make sure your site loads correctly.
Log in to the account where your DNS is hosted and configure the A Record so it points to our Website Firewall.
The Website Security dashboard will update to show that the service has been activated once you’re a Record update is complete. This can take up to 24 hours.
If you have a firewall on your hosting server, we recommend that you whitelist your assigned IP addresses . As all connections to your hosting server will be passing through our firewall, by whitelisting our IP addresses, it will prevent us from being blocked incorrectly.
Please note: If you purchased the Website Security Ultimate package, the content delivery network will be enabled automatically after the IP address change is complete.
