Most Top-Level Domains (TLD’s) have a life cycle which look something like this: 

• Available 
• Registered (Between 1 – 10 years) 
• Expiry 
• Auto Renew Grace Period (Averages 0 – 45 days) 
• Redemption Grace Period (30 days) 
• Pending Delete (5 days) 
• Available

A domain will show redemptionPeriod in a WHOIS lookup if the domain is in redemption. During this state, a standard renewal cannot take place as an additional recovery fee must be paid to the registry. To arrange this, raise a support ticket and let us know which domain you wish to recover, and we can provide the appropriate price.
