The benefits of Dedicated Servers from Heart Internet

Power

These dedicated servers are a force to be reckoned with. They come with up to 256GB RAM and up to 16 CPUs – that’s 32 threads.

Performance

Every dedicated server comes with a choice of either NVMe SSDs or HDDs. The former can perform at speeds of up to four times faster than SATA SSD drives. The latter are designed to store huge data volumes. On top of this, each server provides unlimited traffic with 1 Gbps bandwidth.

Complete control

These servers give you out-and-out control over your resources. You get exclusive access and, thanks to bare metal boxes, you won’t ever have to worry about the noisy neighbour effect. On top of this, every dedicated server comes with performance monitoring and automated alerts, so you will always be in the know about how your server is operating.

Flexibility

These dedicated servers are highly tailorable. You can pick between Windows or Linux. You can opt to have NVMe SSDs or HDDs. And you can customise your server right down to the kernel level.

Your server, your way

Dedicated servers are self-managed, so here’s a clear breakdown of what we look after and what’s down to you.

We handle

Server hardware
All hardware — HDD, CPU, RAM, NIC and every other component — including its upkeep, maintenance and replacement.
Power and network availability
Power kept on 24/7 with data-centre failsafes like UPS and generators, plus a monitored, managed network with ample bandwidth and capacity.
Manual reboot availability
Making sure you can reboot your server from your control panel, with the hardware in place and your login details ready.
Control Panel licence availability
The availability and renewal of any cPanel licences you’ve purchased through us.

You're responsible for

Server software and performance
The operating system, control panel and any applications you install — including maintenance, backups and performance.
Hosting and email settings
All web and mail setup, including DNS, plus the ongoing configuration and maintenance of those settings.
Securing your server
Antivirus, anti-malware, anti-spam and firewall software, kept patched and up to date.
Network configuration
IP address configuration and DNS settings. We set up a basic configuration after provisioning; further changes are yours.
Third-party modules and plug-ins
Installing any third-party modules and plug-ins you’d like to run on your server.

What people build on a dedicated server

With an entire machine and its resources to yourself, a dedicated server handles the workloads shared and virtual hosting can’t. Here are a few of the things our customers run on theirs.

High-traffic websites

Busy stores, membership sites and popular publications that need consistent speed under heavy, spiky demand — without sharing resources with anyone else.

Game servers

Host multiplayer game worlds and community servers where low latency and dedicated CPU keep play smooth, even at peak player counts.

Live media streaming

Encode and deliver live video or audio to large audiences, backed by unlimited traffic and a monitored 1 Gbps network.

Big data & machine learning

Crunch large datasets, train models and run analytics pipelines on up to 256GB RAM and 16 cores of bare-metal performance.

Virtualisation & private cloud

Carve a single powerful box into multiple virtual machines or containers, keeping full root control over how everything is configured.

Resource-intensive apps

Run demanding CRMs, databases, build pipelines and bespoke business applications that need guaranteed, isolated horsepower.

Frequently asked questions

  • What is a dedicated server?

Dedicated server hosting puts an entire server at your disposal, giving you exclusive access and complete control of all the resources. You can configure it just the way you need it, adding everything from new software to higher levels of security.

  • Who should buy dedicated server hosting?

Dedicated server hosting is best for those who want complete control over their servers. The power and performance they offer also makes them ideal for running high traffic sites or resource intensive applications.

  • What type of website should not use dedicated server hosting?

A dedicated server can run any type of website. However, the sort of power they offer isn’t always necessary for running simple uncomplicated websites. It’s also worth bearing in mind that you do need advanced server administration skills to best manage a dedicated server.

  • Will I be able to manage dedicated server hosting through a web-based control panel?

Yes, you can install a control panel with selected OS versions like cPanel/WHM that’s available on Linux CentOS or AlmaLinux.

  • Does Heart’s dedicated server hosting solution offer HDD or SSD NVMe options?

Yes. When you sign up to a dedicated server you get to choose between two disk types: HDD and SSD NVMe. HDDs are traditional spinning disks, which provide the highest storage capacities with less speed than SSD NVMes. NVMe SSDs, meanwhile, are ultra fast. The NVMe drives are not affected by the bottlenecks of the ATA interface, which means they deliver up to four times better IOPS (Input/Output Operations Per Second) than the fastest SAS option available.

  • What is RAID and do you offer RAID with your dedicated servers?

Redundant Array of Independent Disks (RAID) is a means for storing data on multiple hard disks, then linking the disks so that the operating system on your server views them as a single entity. Yes, we provide RAID-1 with all of our dedicated server hosting plans, meaning that we have an exact duplicate copy of your data on two separate hard drives in case one of them fails.

  • How soon will I get my dedicated server hosting?

On average it takes about an hour to provision a dedicated server account. However, occasionally it can take up to 24 hours or more. If you need your hosting urgently, reach out to our support team and they’ll do their best to accelerate the process.
