We wanted to give a quick heads up that we have updated all our one click install web app scripts to the latest versions for our Home Pro and Business Pro web hosting customers. If you are a reseller hosting customer, and you offer any of these to your clients, your scripts have automatically been updated as well.

Because we manage all this in-house and don’t use a 3rd party like fantastico, we can pick and choose the best software and make sure it is always up to date! We currently have over 66 one click install web apps to choose from (and each of them running from the latest versions) including:

– WordPress 3.2.1

– Joomla 1.7.1

– Drupal 7.8

– AWStats 7.0

– Open Web Analytics V1.4.1

– OpenCart 1.5.1.3

– Concrete 5.4.2.1

– Prestashop 1.4.4.1

– phpBB 3.0.9

– And many (many) more!

If there are any you would like to see installed let us know and we will look in to it.

    Thanks for the updates HI…

BUT, I do hope that you are keeping some Older versions: only because of Bugs and Modules in the Newer Versions.

Have you looked into the stability of them first. We use Joomla and Open Cart a lot and Still Love Joomla 1.5 and Opencart 1.4.9.5 Only because of the stability and the modules they have

    Thanks

    Davide

Wouldn’t have thought it’s feasible. Just don’t upgrade if there’s an issue with a newer version or install an older version manually. I personally would like everything to be up to date always.

    Good work.

I would really like to see MAGENTO being included in the list.

Hope this is ok with HI

    All the best.

  • Matthew says:

    Adam,

We don’t have any plans to add Magento to the list for shared hosting, however you will be able to install it yourself on our new VPS range which is coming early November!

Thank for the update, but I see that Joomla have just released 1.7.2 – yet ANOTHER security update!

    Thankx

  • Davide says:

Is there a reason why not have it on the shared hosting? other companies have it as a onclick Install?

    Thanks

    Davide

PS: What I would like to see is “paid back up” the option to have all your sites and DB backed up by HI for a small fee each month

    Hi Davide,

Magento is very resource-hungry and we want shared hosting sites to perform as well as possible.

Thanks for your suggestion, we’ll see what we can do 🙂

  • Jenni says:

Our pleasure John, we’re up to date with 1.7.2 for you 🙂

  • Ross says:

    Thanks for the updates.

Have you considered adding MODX (https://modx.com) as a one-click installation, if at all possible? We do a lot of development and production work using it; and would certainly save a few clicks here and there if nothing else!

  • Jenni says:

Thanks for the suggestion Ross, we’ll look into it.

  • Ian Davies says:

WordPress 3.3 is just round the corner… 🙂

  • Leon says:

Whats the state of play with your VPS, as I need to set up 2 accounts for magento and really don’t want to have to move to another hosting provider like UK2?

    Thanks.

    Leon.

  • John says:

    Thanks

  • Matthew says:

    Leon,

Our VPS are on course to launch next week (w/c 7th November). Not long to wait now.

    Cheers

    Matt

  • Leon says:

Thanks Matt. Ready to add to our re-seller account on 7th.

  • Matthew says:

    Leon,

Just to be clear, it is w/c 7th, not the 7th itself! Mid-week is more realistic.
