.net young designer of the year shortlist revealed | Heart Internet Blog – Focusing on all aspects of the web

The people have spoken and the nominees for the .net young designer of the year award have been announced.

The line-up consists of the some of the most supremely talented web designers under the age of 25 from all around the world.

As we’re sponsoring the category, we thought we’d give you a run-down of who’s in the mix to pick up this prestigious title.

Dan Edwards

Web and application designer Dan Edwards is based in the south of England. Dan has produced some stunning work and also organises Altitude, a Portsmouth based Q&A night for designers.

Diego Quintana

24 year-old Chilean designer Diego Quintana is a massive advocate of freelancing, with a passion for all visual media. Despite working across many different types of visual media, Diego has dedicated the last 3 years to web design.

Elliot Jackson

Originally from good old Blighty, Elliot now lives in France, producing some amazing WordPress themes for ThemeForest and “freelancing on various cool projects. Elliot’s focus is on web and user interface.

Jules Bassoleil

Emerging from one of the world’s most artistic locations, Paris, Jules Bassoleil has produced some superlative work for the web and mobile. Jules defines himself as a UI designer, but has great affection for everything web design, photography, typography and more.

Kyle Turman

Oklahaoma based Kyle Turman specialises in design for mobile and the web. Kyle co-founded Commonwealth, a “premiere co-working space in Oklahoma City”. Kyle is the interactive director at Foundry Co, working on some highly creative and highly innovative projects.

Isaac Paavola

Isaac Paavola has an impressive pedigree as a professional designer, and is only 20 years old. Hailing from the American mid-west, Isaac is a self-taught designer with a passion for user interfaces.

Manik Rathee

Manik Rathee can boast the most powerful man on the planet as a reference. The San Francisco based designer was once a UX engineer for none other than President Barack Obama. As the lead designer for Fluence, Manik is also passionate about photography and writing about design and development.

Rita Deraedt

Despite still being at college (university to you and me), Rita Deraedt has produced some truly brilliant work. Rita lives and breathes design and has produced sizzling work for the web as well as graphic work such as brochures and logos.

Sawyer Hollenshead

Sawyer Hollenshead describes himself as a “designer, front-end developer and hustler with a passion for all things digital”. Sawyer boasts an amazing portfolio online and has worked for household name companies such as Mozilla.

Tyler Galpin

Canadian Tyler Galpin is fully immersed in the design world saying that “My passion for design and helping others understand why it plays such a critical role in our lives motivates me to do/act/think better.” At 22, Tyler is in high demand having produced some breath-taking work as a web designer.
