We’ve had plenty of requests for one click installs for VPS, and we’re happy to announce they are now available on Linux VPS.

Use the one click installs to speed up your server configuration and ensure a no fuss, perfect installation every time. Please note that our new VPS one click installs are designed to be deployed against a fresh CentOS installation. If you have made changes outside the standard CentOS packages the installer may not complete successfully.  If you’re a cPanel user, you will need to install Fantastico to activate one click installs, whilst Plesk users already have them available from the control panel.

The one clicks we now have available for VPS are as follows:

Content Management Systems

• WordPress

• Drupal

• Joomla

Ecommerce Platforms

• Magento

• Opencart

• Prestashop

Software

LAMP Stack

Gaming

• Minecraft game server

All installs and software are completely free and use the latest available versions of the scripts.

To get started, simply head to the Manage VPS page, select the VPS in question, then head to the ‘Scripts’ tab. After choosing a one click install, you’ll then be prompted to choose a password for the FTP which will be created to give you access to the webspace.

What other VPS one click installs would you like to see? Let us know in the comments!

  • Will Craig says:

Hi regarding the magento script what is optimised

can you post a list of your configuration, as i was wondering if you have setup e accelerator or some time of php caching

  • Ryan says:

Shame when we asked last week we couldn’t be given a date and had to pay for custom work to install magento!

    Bit disappointing really!

  • Jonathan says:

nice, will this feature be available through host pay for customers to install? (looked on the vps-10.com Control Panel but cant see it)

  • Jenni says:

Hi Will, we don’t have any add-ons like that for the Magento one click install currently as it’s designed to be a time-saving solution above anything else. Having said that, our next step is to work on the fine-tuning of all the scripts for enhanced performance, particularly Magento. Hope that helps!

  • Jenni says:

Hi Jonathan, it’s available for customers to install as long as the VPS doesn’t have a control panel installed on it.

  • Dave says:

    Hi,

How does it know what domain name to use to setup Magento when I install it on the server? Or do I still have to configure apache?

  • Jenni says:

Hi Dave, it prompts you for a domain during the installation. It will then go ahead and configure Apache and set up a virtual host (and FTP user) for the webspace. Hope that helps!

  • Dave says:

Does it also setup the mail server so it receives email for that domain?

  • Jenni says:

Hi Dave, it doesn’t set up email.

    Ryan,

We have had the VPS one click installers sat on the back burner since launch. When you were quoted the custom work we still didn’t have a date in mind for when they would be added. This isn’t like us here at Heart Internet and one of the things we pride ourselves on is getting things done quickly, and always improving. So we literally decided enough was enough, it was taking too long, and we had to get them out of the door.

We weren’t looking to con you out of any cash so we are going to refund you the money you paid for the installation, we’ll be in touch via email.

That’s honestly a better response than i was expecting, and i appreciate timing is always a bit hard to get right.

That sort of excellent customer service is what keeps customers loyal, and our growing company as a customer and re-seller.

Thank you very much Matt. I’ll look forward to hearing from you.

  • john says:

may be also a good idea to offer a mail server auto installer and then webmail included in that auto install

  • Jenni says:

Thanks for the suggestion John, I’ve passed it along the chain for consideration 🙂

  • alan says:

so when does ur resellers get magento to put on our customers web hosting packages or is it going to be for vps only

  • Matthew says:

    Alan,

Magento is going to remain a VPS only one click install script, it isn’t suited to a shared hosting environment.

    Cheers

    Matt

  • Ryan says:

If you have much experience with Magento you’ll know you or your customers should not be running it on a shared environment!

Although some other hosts do it, i think if Heart start offering it on shared it’s opening up a can of worms for them and you. If you are looking for something more shared hosting friendly opencart is a good option and already within Hearts scripts on shared.

  • Jenni says:

OpenCart is definitely one of the best.

We also have PrestaShop, Zen Cart, TomatoCart, osCommerce, AgoraCart and CubeCart available as one-clicks on shared.

There’s a full list of all of them here: https://www.heartinternet.uk/web-hosting/one-click-installs.html
