    Hello,

this competition sounds great. Is there a high res copy of the company logo that can be sent via email or downloaded from somewhere on your site?

  • Matthew

    27/07/2009

Thats a good point, I’ll make those available. In the mean time I have emailed you our logo and the Heart Internet swirl.

Update: Our logo can now be downloaded above in the RGB and CMYK formats along with the Heart Internet swirl

Hello!! Competition sounds great… Do we get excluded from the competition if we enter a jpeg image of more than 72 dpi?

Also, what sort of information do we need to include, the current info already on the old one or new information?

    Thanks,

    James, puresmoothie.co.uk

@ James You won’t be excluded. With regards to the informaiton, you can take as much or as little as you want from the current adverts and our website. Pick out what you think is the most important features people want

@ Adam I have asked Computer Arts to check the upload function, in the mean time you can email the entry to us at marketing @ heartinternet.uk

    Thanks

    Hello,

How closely do we have to adhere to the present advert? Also, do any images we include have to be photographs, or are digital illustrations acceptable?

    Many thanks,

Hi is there any chance you can make your current advert available as a downloadable file? I’m not familiar with the reselling market, so would like to take a closer look at what you guys consider to be important selling points? Thanks.

  • Matthew

    10/08/2009

Our reseller hosting page is a good place to find that information https://www.heartinternet.uk/reseller-hosting/

    John

It can look and say what ever you want! Obviously I’d advise you make sure it stays within Heart Internet’s branding, but it doesn’t have to follow the format of the current advert, in fact we’d prefer if it didn’t! Hope that helps.

    Hi,

How many entries are we allowed to submit? I’ve been working on variations of my advert.

    Thanks

    Craig

  • Matthew

    11/08/2009

    Craig,

There are no limits on how many entries you can submit. If you have a couple variations, send them in for us to have a look at.

    Hi

Thanks for the email. Prize looks good so I think I’ll have a pop at this later. Got any more pics of Suzi…only joking!

    Cheers

    Pete

P.S. You’re dong a great job hosting my site, if only I could find the time to actually finish it!

  • 11/08/2009

    Hi,

Just wondering if you have a picture of Suzi that we can use on the advert…… also can we state her little caption on the previous advert.

    Thanks

  • 11/08/2009

Just submitted my entry, but was disappointed to find that the upload form didn’t contain an area to upload notes about the design. When I do designs for clients, and particularly for competitions – I like to write a paragraph or two explaining the throught process and design desicions that were made!

  • Katherine

    11/08/2009

    Hi,

Awesome comp can’t wait to start – a few questions though:

    1. I assume the specifications are in mm?

    2. Do you have to be a UK resident to enter?

    3. Can it be a collaborative effort?

    4. If we use stock photography what online and reprint permissions should we request so that it adhere to your copyright permission requirements? Do you have any preference for stock photography sites?

    5. Is the hosting prize transferable, if say for example the entrant already has a reseller account?

    I think that’s all. 😉

Thanks for your time and your patience.

    Katherine.

  • Matthew

    12/08/2009

@Sean, yes the dimensions are in mm

  • Matthew

    12/08/2009

    Katherine

I’ll take your questions one at a time 🙂

    1. I assume the specifications are in mm? : Yes they are

    2. Do you have to be a UK resident to enter?: No, we are leaving it open

    3. Can it be a collaborative effort?: Yes it can, but you’ll have to divide the prize amongst you 🙂

    4. If we use stock photography what online and reprint permissions should we request so that it adhere to your copyright permission requirements? Do you have any preference for stock photography sites?: Any images you buy or source must allow you to use them in print and online as part of the agreement. If you have access to stock photography I’d recommend reading their T&Cs; to check this is permissable.

    5. Is the hosting prize transferable, if say for example the entrant already has a reseller account?: Yes that should be fine

    Cheers

  • 14/08/2009

are we allowed to alter the heart internet logo colours in any way ? for example if the conflict with a background colour etc

  • Matthew

    14/08/2009

    Marty

You can change the colour of the logo (e.g. white logo on a black background), but you can’t change it’s shape or dimensions e.g. split it in half, remove a spoke etc.

    Hope that helps.

My goal is trying to get a good balance between simplicity and enough information for everyone! And giving it a real Web 2.0 look!

Yes it’s fine to use the Microsoft logo.

    Hi there.

I thought I might have a bash at this but had put it on the back-burner for a while, due to the closing date being some way off. However, looking at the closing date in more detail I now see it says 31st Sept which, if I recall the old rhyme correctly, is not possible! Should this be 31st August [in which case I’ve missed the deadline] or should it be 30th September?!?!

    Cheers.

I’m glad you enjoyed it. We’ve had some really good entries sent through and we are going to sit down in the next fews days, go through them all and whittle them down to the winning advert. As soon as we have picked the winner and let them know, we’ll announce it on the blog.

Yes we have chosen a winner! Because of the high standard of the entires we have also picked out 2 ‘runners-up’ we really liked as well who will get a years free reseller hosting for their efforts. We are in the process of getting in touch with the designers and we want to let them know they have won before we make the winning entry public.
