It was recently announced that ICANN (the body that governs the Domain Name System that is used for all domains) will be introducing over a thousand new domain extensions, meaning that the number of available gTLDs is set to grow significantly in the near future.
This development has brought increasing competition and wider choice to the domain name industry, helping businesses and individuals to get ideal domains for their projects.
Some examples of these forthcoming gTLDs include…
.beauty .career .city
.eco .tickets .cooking
.marketing .camera .capital
.engineer .energy .bar
.software .buy .design
.food .app .party
.wedding .mobile .photo
.fishing .agency .film
.dating .car .technology
What are the benefits of these new domain names?
We've recently received some comments asking about the benefits of these gTLDs, so we'd like to explain them here.
When they are released, the new gTLDs will provide a range of benefits for users:
Authoritative positioning
The extensions will allow users to present themselves as authorities within their industry or area of interest, increasing the levels of trust they receive from customers and visitors.
Highly versatile
Because the new gTLDs cover entire industries and personal projects they will apply to a variety of niches, market segments and subjects.
Global appeal
By not being associated with a particular country, the gTLDs will stay relevant to people across the globe and help people to extend the reach of their websites.
Strengthening domain name portfolios
Users will be able to expand their range of domain names with these new gTLDs to develop a strong online presence.
Many gTLDs are currently in the application process and you can check out the entire list on ICANN’s gTLDs website.

Are you ready for the domain name revolution?
Stay tuned for more information on these extensions coming soon.

Glad to see Heart Internet is going to be adding these gTLDs, I had previously asked about these new gTLDs but was told you were not planning on expanding on the gTLDs you already covered.
Will we be able to pre order/reserve domains for these gTLDs prior to release?
Hi Dave,
That’s right; you’ll be able to register your interest in these new gTLDs before they’re released.
Cheers,
Rob
