That includes Christmas Day. While you’re around the table, enjoying turkey and trimmings, listening to Mariah Carey for the hundredth time, our stalwart Customer Services team is in the office, ready to answer any questions you have, solve any problems that emerge, and spend their Christmas at work.
We talked with Daniel Love, one of our team that will be working over Christmas, and found out how much fun it is to spend the holidays in the office.
What’s it like working support during the holidays?
For most of us, we make use of the quiet period, working together on projects and self improvement. The web is constantly changing, and it gives us a chance to catch up on any new developments out there, as well as picking up new skills.
Do you do anything special in the office?
We all participate in a Secret Santa gift exchange, and there are Christmas trees in every room. There’s also Christmas snacks in every kitchen (plenty of chocolate and sweets!), and this year, we had carol singers in for a Christmas Jumper Day treat!
What sort of problems come up during Christmas?
It tends to be a pretty quiet period for us, so the few requests we see are often for other people who are running their businesses as usual (like us). Plus, the inevitable requests for help setting up their services on new devices!
Also, some of the other Customer Services staff sing too much.
What would be your dream Christmas?
Anywhere warm, and preferably with a beach and a bar!
