Google have announced that from January 2026, Gmail will no longer support POP email connections within the Gmail web interface.

What does this mean?
- Any mailbox currently added to Gmail via POP will stop receiving new emails
- Emails already imported into Gmail will not be removed
- This change affects Gmail webmail only
What is not affected
- The Gmail mobile app (iPhone / Android) is not impacted
- You can continue using your mailbox in the Gmail app by adding it as an IMAP account
How to add your shared hosting mailbox to the Gmail app (IMAP)
- Open the Gmail app
- Tap your profile icon (top-right)
- Select Add another account
- Choose Other
- Enter your full email address (e.g. [email protected])
- Tap Next
- Enter your mailbox password
Incoming mail (IMAP) settings
- Server: imap.extendcp.co.uk
- Port: 993
- Security: SSL/TLS
Outgoing mail (SMTP) settings
- Server: mta.extendcp.co.uk
- Port: 587
- Security: STARTTLS
- Username: Full email address
- Password: Mailbox password
