How do I change the nameservers for my domain?

Article Number: 201 | Rating: 1.3/5 from 6 votes | Last Updated: Thu, Apr 23, 2015 at 11:21 AM

You can change the nameservers for your domain name in two places:

Manage This Domain

  1. Log into the Domain Control Panel at http://managethisdomain.com
Username: Your domain name – without the www. (e.g. ‘domain-name.com’)
Password: The password supplied for your domain name or your hosting account
  2. Click on ‘Change Nameservers’

Your Customer Area

  1. Log into your Customer Area
  2. Click on ‘Manage Domain Names’
  3. Select your domain name from the drop-down list under ‘Manage Web Hosting Domains’
  4. Click on ‘Manage Now’
  5. Click on ‘Change Nameservers’

In ‘Change Nameservers’, you can choose between our nameservers or specify a new set.

To enter in new nameservers:

  1. Enter in the first nameserver in the text field next to '1.' (usually listed as ns1)
  2. Enter in the second nameserver in the text field next to '2.' (usually listed as ns2)
  3. Repeat if necessary for a third and a fourth
  4. Click 'Change Nameservers'
  5. The nameservers will now be changed

Please note that changing to off-site nameservers will prevent any web hosting you purchase from us from working for this domain name.

The change will usually take 3-6 hours to show, but remember that these changes can take up to 72 hours to fully propagate across the web.
