How do I make sure a domain is not renewed?

Article Number: 159 | Rating: 1/5 from 4 votes | Last Updated: Thu, Apr 23, 2015 at 12:06 PM

Your domain name will enter the renewal process 30 days from the expiration date.  You can select to cancel the domain at that time:

  1. Log into your Customer Area
  2. Click ‘Renew Services’
  3. Select ‘Cancel’ from the drop-down
  4. Click ‘Update Credits’
  5. The domain will now not be renewed

If you do not cancel your renewal, we will attempt to renew the domain name with payment being taken from the default card listed in your account.

Once a domain has been renewed, it cannot be cancelled or refunded, so it is vital that you ensure that you cancel any domains you do not wish to renew before their expiration date.

This will not immediately cancel your domain name.  Your domain name will still exist until it comes to the expiration date.  You do not have to use your domain name during this period, however.
