If you are uploading your complied CGI program into your Linux hosting account, it may have problems based on how it was complied.
If the CGI binary was written in a language such as C, it may not run if it was compiled on a different platform, such as a Sun Solaris machine. When you compile the binary, you will need to compile it on a 0x86 Linux platform.
If the program was written in a scripting language such as ASP, PHP, or Perl, you need to make sure that it has the correct interpreter line at the start of the script. You also need to make certain that the file permission on your account is set to 755.
