How do I add a new IP address to my Windows 2008 server?

If you want to add more IP addresses to your server, you will need to purchase them in advance from your Heart Internet Customer Area.

To add the IP address:

  1. Go to ‘Start’
  2. Go to ‘Control Panel’
  3. Go to ‘Network and Sharing Center’
  4. Select ‘Change Adapter Settings’
  5. Right click on ‘Active Network Connection’ and select ‘Properties’
  6. Double click on ‘Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4)’
  7. Click ‘Advanced’
  8. Click ‘Add’
  9. Enter the new IP you have been assigned
  10. Enter in the correct subnet
  11. Click ‘Add’ to raise the new IP
  12. Click ‘OK’ on all the windows until you are back to the connections page

The new IP address has been added and can be pinged.
