Why is Windows Server 2008 reporting that it is not genuine?

All our installations of Windows Server are genuine, with genuine licences fully set up by Microsoft.

However, if the Microsoft Activation Server was not responding when your server was first set up, you may get a warning that your Windows Server is not genuine.

You can manually activate your copy of Windows Server to solve this problem.

1. Log into your Windows server
2. Go to ‘Start’
3. Right-click on ‘Computer’
4. Click on ‘Properties’
5. Under the Windows Activation section, click on ‘Activate Windows Now’
6. On the window that pops up, click on ‘Activate Windows Online Now’
7. Wait for the Windows Activation Server to respond
8. You should be fully activated
